I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but have spent the past 20 years visiting the Forgotten Coast and consider the area my home away from home. When Hurricane Michael hit the area, I felt helpless, as this area I loved had so many needs and I was unable to be a part of the solution, so I turned to my songwriting to summarize the emotions in the moment and wrote Strong. At the time, I really did not know or even think this was something that might benefit the people in this area, but hopefully it might lift their spirits. Now, after some encouragement from others, I have decided to sell the song via playitforward.com with the hope of providing some financial support for the local arts community. I wanted to choose an organization that would directly impact the area and the funds stay in the area, so have chosen The Joe Center for the Arts (currently operating in cooperation with the Forgotten Coast Cultural Coalition). Hopefully, The Joe, and the events they host in the area will benefit the community by helping people feel somewhat normal again and to lift their spirits. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you will enjoy the song, Strong.
