This is my debut release. Ephemeral Boy was written from the perspective of a young gay boy who has a special, yet complicated relationship with his straight-identifying best friend. Many people in the LGBTQ community have had that friend whom they've fallen in love with, and though may have been lucky enough to share an intimate connection, ultimately realize it's not meant to be. The peril of a one-sided relationship where one person gives everything they have to someone who can't give it in return transcends any one model of love.
I've been lucky enough to get to a point in my life where it eventually got better. But I remember how hard and impossible it seemed when I was young and even considered suicide as a solution to end the loneliness I felt at my darkest times.
That's why I picked The Trevor Project for this release. This amazing organization is committed to helping LGBTQ youth by offering crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and peer-to-peer social network support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, nationwide.
