Canyon Dream Revisited

On any given day, music finds its way into our lives, whether celebrating a special occasion, joining together in worship, or unwinding after a long day at work. Music can also hold special meaning or support a worthy cause. The CANYON DREAM FOR A CAUSE project does both.

Featured on this project is the song, "Canyon Dream," which was co-written by R Van Jekich and Ed Wilson. It is the interpretation of Jek's experience on a helicopter tour of the Na Pali coast and the garden isle of Kauai. "The views were absolutely breathtaking," says Jek. "Plus it was on my honeymoon. Given the time and place, all the elements were there to compose this piece."

What is special about this song, is that it is sung by a dear friend, Shari K. Her kind and gentle demeanor are evident in her vocals, which she delivers with passion and feeling. She brings emotions to the lyrics that ebb and flow like the ocean tide that she is singing about. Sadly, she was taken from us far too soon and the news of her loss was met with shock and sadness by many. This project is a tribute to her friendship, her positive energy, and her beautiful voice.

CANYON DREAM FOR A CAUSE is also dedicated to supporting cancer prevention and screenings through the St. Luke's Cancer Screening fund. All proceeds from the project will help provide financial assistance for underserved and underinsured individuals in need of colon cancer screenings. Every donation is important and will make a difference in saving lives by preventing colon cancer or finding it in its earliest stages when it is more treatable. Thank YOU for your support!
