FIngerstyle for CURES is a compilation album born from the fundraising efforts of Team SHINE's (Students Helping Invest NOW Eradicating Leukemia, Lymphoma & Blood Cancers) captain Ari Mabry. Ari was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 4 1/2 and endured almost 4 years of rigorous chemo, treatments & surgeries. During this time he often turned to music (played piano & sax), art, cooking and video gaming to help him cope with the difficult treatments. Now at age 16 and being in remission for 7 years he decided to inspire musicians to help him use music to raise funds for his campaign with LLS! Ari started playing guitar two years ago and fell in love with fingerstyle, initially teaching himself from YouTube. He now collaborates with fingerstyle artists across the country as he fine tunes his artistry and is excited to release his first ever original single "Scaredy Cat"!
